The pig walk is finally over – thank you so much to everyone who sponsored and donated and supported me with encouraging messages. Particular thanks to Mark Randall, Sue Randall, Hilary Grady, Mark Grady, Lorna Doone, Lotty Cross, Zoe Lander, Dave Crossfield, Roz Grant and Mike for your help with the pig party and pre-pig party organisation and entertainment!
THE WALK
The walk was looong. Luckily it didn’t rain much, however I still ended up with soggy feet and lots of blisters. I only got lost once, and managed to do the 40 mile circular walk ‘A Coventry Way’ in about 17 hours.
THE PARTY
I arrived at the party just after 10pm. Everyone was cheering and singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” (a favourite song of mine being a Liverpool FC fan) and I shed a soppy tear. Here are some pics of the night taken by Mark Randall:

There is still time to donate if you would like to: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/forpigssake
this sponsorship page closes on 13th September 2015
The raffle and auction were a great success, thank you to the following companies for donating prizes:
The Clarendon Arms, Kenilworth – The Almanack, Kenilworth – Positive Fitness, Balsall Common – The Gallery, Kenilworth – Room Twenty Seven hairdressers, Kenilworth – Sing and Sign, Jan Nightingale – Tiny Seeds, Coventry – The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry – Down to Earth Organic, Earlsdon – Sweet As, Leamington Spa – Oakes Farm Shop, Balsall Common – Berkswell Traditional Farmstead Meat
FINALLY…
We are still collecting money, but the total is currently £1,136.28, and growing, you can still donate here until 13th September 2015. This will be of great use to Farms Not Factories as they help to raise awareness and try to keep large factory farms out of the UK. Below is a video as a reminder as to why I did this (music by Jools Holland).
My final request would be to ask you to spare a moment to sign the petitions to stop the opening of 3 huge pig factory farms. Should they go ahead, the animal cruelty, health and environmental issues would mean that British meat will certainly be nothing to be proud of.
